William Hal Redmond, Sr. Obituary (1926 - 2015)

Funeral services for Mr. William Hal Redmond, Sr., age 89, will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, November 16, 2015 at Maury City Church of Christ with Dan Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Maury City Cemetery in Maury City, Tennessee. Mr. Redmond the son of William Osler and Mary Eleanor Redmond was born August 17, 1926 in Crockett Mills, Tennessee and died on Saturday, November 14, 2015. He was a faithful member of the Maury City Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 25 years. He served as Postmaster for Maury City Post Office from May 1958 to August 1976. He was an avid traveler, deer hunter, crappie fisherman and he loved to play Rook and other card games with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Osler and Mary Eleanor Redmond; wife, Sarah Nell Redmond; brother, Paul Farrow Redmond. Surviving relatives include his son, William Hal Redmond, Phd.; daughter, Jennifer Redmond Gillis; grandchildren, Dr. Jeff Gillis and wife Suzanne, Rachel Gillis Allen and husband Johnathan, Amy Gillis Shirley and husband Justin; great-grandchildren, Brantley Gillis and Hallie Gillis. Visitation for Mr. Redmond will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 5-8 pm at Ronk Funeral Home.
