Bells, Tennessee
Tony Louis Crossnoe, 76, a faithful servant of God entered into the presence of the Lord on September 18, 2025.
He was born on February 14, 1949 in Jackson, TN to D.K. and Mavis Crossnoe. He attended school in Louisville, KY and Bells, TN. He graduated from Bells High School in 1967. He attended Union University where he met the love of his life, Jane Gordon. They were married February 6, 1970.
While in school he worked as a butcher in his family’s grocery store but began to feel the call of the Lord. He was ordained into the ministry July 2, 1972. While continuing to work at the grocery store, he became a bi-vocational pastor serving over the years at Threeway Baptist Church, Bells, TN, Fort Hudson Baptist Church, Dyersburg, TN, and Enon Baptist Church, Halls, TN.
In 1989, Tony transitioned to Full-Time Ministry and began serving at West Paris Baptist Church, Paris, TN. He also served at Bowmantown Baptist Church, Jonesbourgh, TN and Mercer Baptist Church, Mercer, TN. He was currently serving at Calvary Baptist Church, Humboldt, TN.
Through his unwavering faith and service, Tony touched countless lives and will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to the Lord and his legacy of service, which will continue to inspire for generations. "And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39 ESV)
When he was not in the pulpit, he loved to travel. He had a deep love for history and loved to visit historical places, especially Civil War battlefields. He loved to trace his family linage and spent years discovering the Crossnoe family origin.
To know Tony was to love him. He was there to comfort and support you when you needed it or to put a smile on your face. He loved laughter and telling bad “dad” jokes. He had a “unique” fashion style that he wore proudly. His love for his family was unconditional. He was so proud of his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those proceeding him in death are his parents DK and Mavis Crossnoe, brother Tim Crossnoe.
Those to forever cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years and love of his life, Jane Crossnoe. His children, Charity Morris and husband Andy, Cande Crossnoe, Cortney Rawls and husband Jason. His grandchildren, Noah, Heath, Elijah, Isabell, Hannah-Grace, and Ellie-Joy. His sister-in-laws Lydia Crossnoe and Linda Sue Gordon. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
