Terry Wayne Shaffer

–

Ridgely, Tennessee

With a spirit as free and vibrant as the open road he loved, Terry Shaffer, born on September 26, 1959, in Tiptonville, TN, embarked on his final journey on August 13, 2024. A truck driver by profession and a farmer by heart, Terry was a man who embraced the joys of life with a charismatic enthusiasm that was contagious to all who knew him. Always ready with a joke or a funny story, Terry could light up a room with his laughter and his zest for life. He was a man who understood that "Life is short, and it's up to you to make it sweet" (Sarah Louise Delany).

Terry spent his working years driving for Lindamood Planting Co, a job that suited his love for travel and adventure. But Terry was more than a truck driver and a farmer. He was a mainstay of the Ridgely, Tennessee community, known and loved for his spontaneous dance moves and his spirited personality. Terry's greatest joy, however, was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and considered them his greatest achievement.

Terry is survived by his son, Brent Alexander; his brothers Bobby (Cindy) Shaffer, Michael Shaffer, and Randy Shaffer; and his sisters Felicia (Brad) Dean, Brenda (Willie) Benthal, Martie Zeller and his granddaughter, Annalise Alexander. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, a testament to the loving family he held dear. Terry was preceded in death by his father Clint Jr. Shaffer, mother Dorothy Shaffer, and brother Ronnie Shaffer.

In keeping with Terry's wishes, cremation services are under the direction of Ronk Funeral Home, and no services have been planned at this time. As we remember and celebrate Terry's life, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos on the memorial page. Terry's life was a testament to the power of laughter, the value of family, and the importance of embracing every moment. Let us honor his memory by living our lives with the same vibrancy and spirit that defined Terry.
