Friendship, Tennessee
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Stanley Ray Knox, a talented and hardworking man who was born on January 26, 1971, in Jackson, TN, USA. Stanley left us on August 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication. He resided in Friendship, Tennessee, where he was a self-employed tree cutter. This occupation was a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors. Stanley had a unique talent for woodworking; he made many beautiful things from yellow poplar wood, showcasing his connection to his work.
As Robert Louis Stevenson once said, "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant." Stanley embodied this sentiment, not only in his work but also in his personal life. He loved working with his hands, breaking horses, and spending time outdoors. His love for these hobbies was only surpassed by his love for his family. He is survived by his father, Charlie Knox (Royce Ann); his mother, Trudy Jones; his daughters, Bethany Willard, Rachel Knox, and Victoria Echols; his siblings, Andy Knox (Sheri), James Knox (Araly), Janis Barber (Adam), and Jenny Knox; and his grandchildren, Maddison Harris, Olivia Willard, James Harris, and Collin Harris. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Knox and Jenny Knox, his step-father, Ernest Jones, his grandfather, Raymond Gilliland, and the mother of Rachel, Sherry Rushing.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Ronk Funeral Home, 106 South Bells Street, Alamo, Tennessee, 38001. A visitation will be held at the same location on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Perry-Badgett Cemetery. We invite all who knew Stanley to come and share their memories of this extraordinary man.
