Ruby C Reynolds

Graveside services for Ms. Ruby C. Reynolds, age 99, will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Oakview Memorial Gardens with Larry Harper officiating.
Ms. Reynolds died June 14, 2014 in Bells, Tennessee. She was born February 26, 1915 in Sharon, Tennessee to the late Robert and Nellie Thompson Wilson.
Ms. Reynolds was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dolores Higgs; six brothers; one sister.
She retired from GTE in Chicago in her early 60's because of health issues. She moved back south to be near and have the help of her children and grandchildren. After retirement she took up painting, crocheting and reading every book in the Library. Her eyesight began failing and she lost the ability to do the hobbies she loved. She grieved greatly over the loss. She never drove a car, so therefore her hobbies and her home became the focus of her life.
While she was able to attend she went to Barkers Chapel Church. She loved gardening and until a few years ago she worked in her own yard. She lived a long and eventful life. She lived to see her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She rejoiced at each new sprout on her family tree. She was a beautiful lady. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include her sons, Fred Witherington and David Witherington; daughters, JoAnn Rodgers and Landa French; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sixteen great great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Ms. Reynolds will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 9:00 am - 10:45 am at Ronk Funeral Home.
