Bells, Tennessee
Ronny "Ronald" Lee McDonald, born July 25, 1944 in Berkeley, CA, USA, was a man of courage, devotion, and humility. His life was a testament to the words of John F. Kennedy: "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." Ronny indeed lived by his principles, serving his country valiantly as a mine sweeper in the Navy during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country was matched only by his dedication to his loved ones and his work as a QA Technician with the Wright Medical Group.
Although Ronny lived in Bells, Tennessee for 43 years, his impact reached far beyond the local community. He was well-respected in his profession, where he dedicated many years to ensuring the highest quality of the products that passed through his hands. Despite the challenges he faced, Ronny maintained an unwavering commitment to excellence, which left a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends. As the wise Helen Keller once noted, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved." Ronny was a living embodiment of this truth, as his strong character was honed through his experiences and became his enduring legacy.
Ronny is lovingly remembered by his son, Tommy (Audra) McDonald; step-son, Scott (Lisa) McDonald; sister, Ruth (Sam) Yeager; and brother, Eddie (Phyllis) McDonald. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, John McDonald; mother, Ruth McDonald; and brother, Johnny McDonald.
His graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 1:30pm CST at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, located at 693 Wildersville Road, Wildersville, Tennessee, 38388. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
In celebrating Ronny's life, we invite you to share your memories and photos on his memorial page. Let us remember not just his accomplishments and service, but the unique qualities that made him the man we knew and loved. In this way, we can continue to honor his spirit, even as we mourn his passing.
