Romie Sipes Winberry Obituary (1939 - 2021)

Funeral Services for Mrs. Romie Sipes Winberry, age 82, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, in the Chapel of Ronk Funeral Home, with brother J.P. Vick officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Bells, TN. Mrs. Winberry passed away, Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hopsital. She was born in Bells, TN, April 17, 1939, to the late Guy Sipes and Irene Sipes. She worked at Kellwood Co. and Brown Shoe Company. Then, she and her sister Neally created their own company called J & W and worked there until her retirement. Mrs. Romie always greeted everyone with a smile. She was always compassionate and kind to everyone who knew her. She was a strong, hard-working woman who did anything to provide for her family. She was the strength of the family and the one who held everyone together. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Winberry; brother, Johnny Edgar Sipes; sister, Neally Jaynes; great grandsons, Brandon and Bentley Winberry. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Winberry (Debbie) of Bells, TN, Donnie Winberry (Sharon) of Bells, TN, Keith Winberry (Vicky) of Friendship, TN; Daughters, Vickie Carter (Mike) of Jackson, TN, Judy Lutz of Bells, TN, Jannie Allen (William) of Gadsden, TN; sister, Nelly Jean Winberry; brother, Marvin Sipes; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service time, at Ronk Funeral Home, on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Pallbearers for the service will be Patric Sipes, Mikey Carter, Hunter Brisentine, Wendell Brisentine, Shane Ellington, Jody Ellington, Kevin Reyes, and Taylor Sipes.
