Pamela Cates

Pamela Sue Cates, born on March 19, 1974, in Jackson, Tennessee, was a creative soul whose laughter and spirit could light up any room. Known for her funny and thoughtful nature, Pamela lived her life on her own terms, embracing every moment with a joy and zeal that was infectious. She was a spirited woman, always ready to share a hearty laugh or lend a listening ear. As Maya Angelou once said, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style," and Pamela personified this quote in every way.

Pamela was a dedicated package handler at Fed-Ex, and her hard work and commitment were evident in her professional life. Prior to this, she served as a booking agent at TopGolf for several years, showcasing her creative and thoughtful nature in her work. She also worked hard to make her home beautiful by building a fence on her own and hauling gravel in 5 gallon buckets to create her driveway. Her hands were callused from laboring in her garden and yard that she took such great pride in. Pamela also enjoyed spending time with her K-9 companion, Sheba. Her home in Friendship, Tennessee, was her sanctuary, filled with love and laughter.

Above all, Pamela was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Rebecca King, her siblings, Cindy (Jerry) Wheeler, her children, Kateland (Hunter) Simmons, Logan Cates, Breann Pennington, and her granddaughter, Layla Cates. She also leaves behind her significant other of 16 years, Brandon Park. Pamela was preceded in death by her daughter, Lailand Cates, and her grandmothers, Lila (Harvey) Sipes and Dovie (Oscar) King. Her spirit will continue to live on through her loved ones, and her memory will forever be etched in their hearts.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Pamela's life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 12:00 pm CST at the Maury City Church of God, located at 6910 Tennessee 88, Maury City, Tennessee, 38050.
