Nickey Love

–

Alamo, Tennessee

Nickey Dwight Love, age 75, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on May 3, 1950, in Crockett County, Tennessee, Nickey was the son of the late Rube Macklin Love and Frances Marie Love.

Nickey proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years aboard the USS Oriskany, where he served as an Assistant Catapult Captain. During this time, he met the love of his life, Bea Prince Love, on a blind date in Brownsville, Tennessee in 1970. The two were married in 1971 and shared 54 wonderful years together.

After his military service, Nickey worked as a route salesman for Wonder Bread, faithfully serving Crockett County for 29½ years. In retirement, he developed a passion for antique shopping and collecting, filling his shop with many treasured items and memories gathered over the years. He also spent countless hours with his best friend Bobby King tinkering with junk and selling vegetables.

Nickey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Bea Prince Love; his son, Scott Macklin Love and wife Shannon; his grandchildren, Kadye Love Stewart and husband Spencer, and Hayden Scott Love and wife Lauren; and his cherished great-grandson, Macklin Cale Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rube Macklin Love and Frances Marie Love, his brother Alan Love and sister Frances King.

Above all else, Nickey loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He surrendered his life to God on April 18, 2018, and carried his faith throughout his life. In his later years, he was lovingly cared for at the VA Home in Humboldt, Tennessee, where he received compassionate and special care.

Nickey will be remembered for his dedication to family, his strong work ethic, his love of antiques, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Nickey will begin at 12:00 pm on May 27, 2026 at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo, TN. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the same location with Bro. AJ Keyte officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
