Alamo, Tennessee
Myrna Loy Ward, a resident of Alamo, Tennessee, was born on April 5, 1941, in the same town she would later call home, and passed away on November 1, 2025. Myrna, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, is remembered fondly for her love for her family and her passion for life.
Myrna was a dedicated worker, having served as a Seamstress at Kellwood and later becoming the Cafeteria Manager at Alamo City School. Myrna was proud of her roots and enjoyed sharing her love for her hometown with those around her. She had a zest for life and found joy in the simple pleasures. Myrna loved going to the river with her husband, Paul, and going fishing. She was an avid camper and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Her love for cooking was legendary, and her favorite times of the year were Thanksgiving and Christmas when she could bring her whole family together.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, her son Scott, and her grandsons Brent (Sarah) Ward, Lane Ward, and Wyatt Ward, and her great-grandson Will Ward. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Flossie Lowery, and her siblings Shirley Joyce, Charles, Arzo, Roger, William, Barthel Lowery, Moggie Norden, and Ada Garmany. Also preceding her was her granddaughter Nikki Ward, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
A service to honor and celebrate Myrna's life will take place at Crockett Community Church, 80 North Johnson Street, Alamo, Tennessee, 38001, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 11:00 am.
In memory of Myrna, we encourage you to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page. As we remember her, let us reflect on the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." May Myrna's love live on in all those she touched.
