Mike John Glidwell Obituary (1951 - 2021)

Funeral Services for Michael John "Mike" Glidwell, age 69, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2021, in the chapel of Ronk Funeral Home with Bro. Mark McMinn officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Gadsden, TN. Mike went to his heavenly home, October 7, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born October, 24 1951, in Humboldt, TN, to the late James Lee Glidwell and Minnie Lee Barber Glidwell. He worked most of his life at UPS delivering packages to businesses and residences here in Crockett County and surrounding counties before he retired. After, his retirement he began to minister to and share the gospel of Christ with inmates at the county jail. It was because of his testimony and his passion for the gospel that he brought so many souls that were lost to Jesus Christ. He also worked with Teen Challenge, a Christian based rehabilitation program, for several years where he had a profound impact on young adults battling addiction. He has also been the pastor at Mt. Olive Assembly of God in Alamo since 2013. Mike Glidwell was a servant of God, and as a reward for his servitude he has been rewarded with his crown. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Glidwell and Minnie Lee Barber Glidwell; wife Jo Ann Glidwell, brothers, James Lee Glidwell, William Robert Glidwell, Oscar Glidwell, Jerry Lee Glidwell; sisters, Helen Juanita Glidwell King, Brenda Glidwell Lancaster. He is survived by his sons, Damien Glidwell (Melonie), Justin Moody, Johnny "Bubba" Kenner; daughters, Autumn Maynard (Matthew), Lisa Siddell; brothers, Bob Glidwell (Jean), William Glidwell (Diane), James Glidwell (Kathy), Charlie Glidwell (Eloise); sister, Hazel McComb (Leroy); grandchildren, William Russell, Kierstin Glidwell, Aiden Glidwell, Michael Glidwell, Paiton Wiles; great grandchildren, Delilah Russel, and one on the way, Eden Maynard. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Ronk Funeral Home, Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The family has asked that anyone attending the services to come as you are, and wear something Casual in memory of Mike's casual nature.
