Mary Jo Mason

Private graveside services for Ms. Mary Jo Mason, 84, will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Cairo Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Larry Harper officiating.
Ms. Mason passed away on April 24, 2020. She was born in Memphis, TN June 11, 1935 to her parents, Daniel Elsworth Strauser and Maggie Leona Baggett Strauser. Mary Jo married Billy Goode from Alamo, Tennessee. They were married until his death in 1972. Billy and Mary Jo had two children, Barry and Patricia. She then married her sweetheart, Earl Mason in 1974. Earl and Mary Jo were married 44 years until his death in 2019. The couple loved to dance, travel, and spend time with their family. Mary Jo spent the rest of her years residing at Bells Nursing Home where she loved to play bingo and being referred to the "mayor" of Bells Nursing Home.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Billy Goode; 2nd husband, Earl Mason; brothers, Billy Austin Strauser, James Franklin Strauser, and Daniel Elsworth Strauser.
Surviving relatives include son, Barry Goode (Sharon); daughter, Patricia Haynes (Roy); step- daughters, Vicki Lovell (Butch), Betty Winslett (Jaime); grandchildren, Michelle Pigue (Jason), Michelle Foster, Melissa Coker (Stan), Melanie Crenshaw, Chris Robinson, Amanda Cantrell; great grandchildren, Karly & Kloie Pigue, Tyler Starbuck; 14 additional great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
Ms. Mason was a loving wife, loving grandma, nana, and mama Mary to so many.
The family has requested a private graveside service for Ms. Mary Jo Mason.
