Larry Cotner

–

Bells, Tennessee

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Larry Cotner, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to the power of hard work, the joy of passion, and the importance of family. Born on November 24, 1948, in Jackson, TN, Larry spent most of his life in Jackson, Tennessee, where he was a respected member of the community. Larry, who was widowed, passed away on November 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Larry was an inspiring figure who, through his dedicated service as a Lineman/Service Tech at South Central Bell, demonstrated the value of diligence and perseverance. His talents were not confined to his professional life. Larry was a passionate enthusiast of motorcycles and classic muscle cars, a testament to his adventurous spirit. An avid reader and history buff, he often shared fascinating stories and nuggets of wisdom, enriching the lives of those around him. As Albert Einstein once said, "The only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library." This quote resonates deeply with the life Larry lived, filled with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a deep love for learning.

Larry was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. He is survived by his son Kris Cotner (Gennifer), step-daughter Kathy Bray, brother Douglas Cotner, and his grandsons Jack, Brody, and Archie Cotner. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Tommie Cotner, wife Donna Cotner, brothers Jimmy, Charles, Billy, and Stanley Cotner, and sisters Christine and Mary Helen. As a member of Harris Grove Methodist Church, Larry's faith was deeply rooted and came to define his approach to life. His guiding principle was love, especially for his family, which was at the center of his world.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Larry's life on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Ronk Funeral Home, 106 South Bells Street, Alamo, Tennessee, 38001. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am CST, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am CST conducted by Bro. Paul Hare. Burial will follow in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery near Shiloh, TN.
