Katherine Johnson

Katherine Riggins Johnson passed away July 2, 2013 at Regional Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. She was 94.
Mrs. Johnson, a life-long resident of Maury City was the eldest member of Pond Creek Congregational Methodist Church. She was married for 54 years to Estle Johnson who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Verner and May Riggins. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Cairl Riggins; niece, Carol Riggins Huey.
She is survived by her niece, Patsy Poston (Ralph) of Maury City; nephew, Gerry Riggins (Norma) of Southaven, Mississippi; nephew, Tommy Riggins (Ella) of Bedford, Texas; a host of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Pond Creek Congregational Methodist Church with Ralph Poston and Pastor Jack Leslie officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be her nephews, Mason Poston, Steve Crocker, Harrell Clement, Troy Kylce, Johnny Riggins, Peyton Woods and church family, Jimmy Hamilton and Tony Ballard.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 5-8 pm at Ronk Funeral Home and Saturday, July 6, 2013 10:00 am -11:00 am at Pond Creek Congregational Methodist Church.
