Notre and Julia Ann Brown met when they were just young teenagers from small communities of Quincy and Nance. They were married in 1946 after Notre returned from World War II where he served in the Navy in the South Pacific. On February 2, 2019 they would have been married 73 years. Notre worked for the city of Alamo maintaining their utilities for many years and farmed until retirement. Julia was a wife and homemaker. She helped raise many children in Alamo where she provided childcare and acquired the name of "JuJu" which she was later called by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Notre and Julia were members of the Nance Church of Christ for many years, where Notre served as an elder. Together, they started and led a Bible Study ministry through the mail reaching out to members of the community.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the staff at the Alamo Nursing Home and Rehab. Also a sincere gratitude to Dr. Loren Carroll and Kristin Byrd. Our loved ones, Notre and Julia Ann Brown, received the very best care anyone could ever hope to have right here in Alamo, TN. You all treated them as your own family and we are forever grateful.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request any memorials be made to the Nance Cemetery that he loved so much: Nance Cemetery Fund, 3153 Nance Rd., Alamo TN 38001.
