Joseph "J.D." Lilly Obituary (1920 - 2012)

Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Daniel "J.D." Lilly, age 91, will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Maury City Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Maury City Cemetery. Mr. Lilly was preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Ozment Lilley Burrow; father, Joe D. Lilley; step father, Claude Burrow; son Kenneth Lilly; sisters, Oma Lilly, Elizabeth McLanigan and Annie Fay Lilley; brothers, Robert Lilley and Dalton Lilley. Surviving relatives include his wife, Monita Austin Lilly; son, Dana Lilly; daughter, Patsy Hargett and husband Jimmy; seven grandchildren, , Anita Cruse, Candy Simmons, Stoney Hargett, Darla Gray, Jennifer Martin, Joseph D. Lilly and Tobias "Toby" Lilly; thirteen great grandchildren, Tiffany Hargett, Austin Hargett, Lilly Martin, Trip Martin, Hargett Martin, Ian Gray, Nicholas Gray, Casey Cruse, Justin Hollingshead, Nathan Lilly, Colton Lilly, Jordan Lilly and Brylee Lilly; one great great grandchild, Lilly Hollingshead. Minister for the service will be Stephen Sutton. Pallbearers for the service will be Dana Lilly, Joe Lilly, Toby Lilly, Stoney Hargett, Dale Cruse and Jimmy Hargett. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Phillip Simmons, Jesse Stribling, Justin Hollingshead, Hal Redmond, Lester Bates and Austin Hargett. In lieu of flowers, the family asked memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
