Johnny Yarbrough

–

Alamo, Tennessee

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Ray Yarbrough, who left us on November 22, 2024. Born on April 8, 1953, in Rockford, IL, John spent his 71 years creating a life filled with creativity, talent, and thoughtful gestures that touched all who knew him. John was a talented carpenter by profession, working independently throughout his career, and his creative spirit was reflected in the beautiful pieces he crafted.

John was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved riding motorcycles, bowling, and camping. His thoughtful nature shone brightest when he was outdoors, appreciating the natural beauty around him. He was a man who understood the value of family and friends, cherishing every moment spent with them.

John is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Lori Ferguson; his grandchildren Nevaeh, Marlee, Julius Jr., Michael, Kaliyah, Torrie, and Cy'arrii Ferguson; his siblings Wayne, Jack, Kathy, Barbie, Kelly, Edward, Jerry, Dorothy, Sara, Connie, Vicky, Brenda, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Sara Yarbrough, and his siblings Larry, Debbie, and Monty. His large and loving family also includes his adopted grandchildren by choice, Christian Anderson (Cameron), Kerissa Macon, Jacob Thomas, Ashlynn Thomas, Harlie Thomas, Nevaeh Thomas, Christopher Anderson, and Justin Thomas (Crystal) and an adopted brother by choice, Anthony Thomas (Cindi). A well-lived life doesn't end any more than a river stops flowing, it merely flows into something different and beautiful.

A memorial service to honor the life of Johnny Yarbrough will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of Ronk Funeral Home.

In his memory, we encourage everyone to share their memories of John Yarbrough and upload photos to the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a beacon of his talented, creative, and thoughtful life, providing comfort and solace to all who loved him. As author Leo Buscaglia once said, "I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories."
