Milan, Tennessee
Jerry Lyn Morris, passed away on January 22, 2025, at his residence in Milan, Tennessee. Jerry was born on October 22, 1946, in Trenton, Tennessee to Hallie and Callie Howe. A smart and talented man, he devoted over 50 years of his life to welding, working for SM Lawrence Co. before his retirement.
Jerry was a man of many passions. He was an avid fisherman, a skilled pool player, and a dedicated welder. He enjoyed trips to "The Boat" in Missouri, and his love for animals was evident in his affection for his dogs. However, what mattered most to Jerry was his family. He cherished babysitting his grandchildren and was a source of love and support for his four children. As Albert Einstein once said, “The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.” For Jerry, his family was his library, his source of knowledge, strength, and love.
He is survived by his children, Alicia Clinton (Kyle), Jerry Jr., Rachelle Ortega (Steven), Wendy Bently (John), and Marlina Setser (Troy), his siblings, Lee Howe and Melissa Lowery, and his grandchildren, Jessica, Dustin, Zak, Jerica, Brittany, Kody, Emma, Troy, Johnnie, Lindsay, Kylie, Abram, Jacobe, and Ashly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hallie and Callie Howe, his wife Margie Morris, his sisters Susan Graves and Debbie Graves, and his daughter Regina Ann Morris.
A memorial service for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Crockett County Safe Room, located on Ballpark Loop in Alamo, Tennessee. This special date marks what would have been Jerry and his late wife Margie’s 26th wedding anniversary.
Cremation services are under the direction of Ronk Funeral Home.
