Jerry Wayne Mayfield Obituary (1938 - 2015)

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Mayfield, age 77, will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, July 31, 2015 at Pond Creek Congregational Methodist Church with Jack Leslie officiating. Interment will follow at Pond Creek Cemetery. Mr. Mayfield died July 29, 2015 in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was born July 13, 1938 in Alamo, Tennessee to the late Priestly and Amy Simmons Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Mayfield; grandson, Mitchell Ballard; granddaughter, Janea' Howell. Surviving relatives include his wife, Melba Mayfield; son, Jeremy Mayfield and wife Cheri; daughters, Nelda Wood and husband Junior, Remelda Ballard and husband Tony, Latonya Poston and husband David; brothers, Johnny Mayfield and wife Alesha, Priestly Mayfield, Jr. and wife Shirley; sister, Joyce Thomas; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be sent to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Visitation for Mr. Mayfield will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 2-4 pm at Pond Creek Congregational Methodist Church.
