J.T. "Bud" Hogan Obituary (1928 - 2024)

J.T. "Bud" Hogan, a dedicated and inspiring figure, passed away on May 13, 2024, at his Bells Nursing Home in Bells, Tennessee. Born to Lewis and Lodemie Hogan on August 22, 1928, in Bay, Arkansas, J.T. lived a life of service and support, devoting a significant portion of his life to the U.S. Air Force. His tireless commitment to his country was recognized with his rank as Senior Master Sergeant, and he served as a revered Crew Chief and instructor until his retirement in May of 1974 after 24 years. After his distinguished military career, J.T. didn't slow down. He took his skills to the water department in Washington D.C. and Falls Church, VA, where he continued to positively impact those around him. Outside of work, J.T. was an avid fisherman and enjoyed tinkering, always finding something to fix or improve. He was a supportive figure, not just in his professional life, but also within his family and community. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" J.T. embodied this sentiment in every aspect of his life. J.T. was a widower, having been married to his beloved first wife, Shirley, and his cherished second wife, Juanita. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Lodemie Hogan, his first wife Shirley Hogan, his second wife Juanita Hogan, his son Jim Hogan, his brothers Jack and Mann Hogan, and his sister Mary Smith. He is survived by his sons David Hogan and Pat Hogan, step-sons Darren Foust (Debbie) and Allen Foust (Daphine), daughter Nancy Brand, step-daughter Selena Kirby (Scott), brother Wayne Hogan, five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, one great grandchild, fourteen step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A memorial service with military honors to honor the life and legacy of J.T "Bud" Hogan will be held at a later date in Maryland. His memory will live on through his family and all those he inspired.
