Funeral services for Mrs. Elisabeth Buford Montague, age 90, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 07, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Maury City, Tennessee with Mike Waddey and Gerald Dawson officiating. Mrs. Montague passed away on Saturday, November 05, 2016, at her home in Maury City, Tennessee. Elisabeth was born on August 27, 1926, to the late Marvin Lester Buford and Annie Murchison Buford in Maury City, Tennessee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maury City, Tennessee and was a Supervisor of Special Education for Memphis City Schools. She was married to Mr. Ralph Eugene Montague for 63 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Montague; brothers, Murray Lester Buford, James Ward, and Alfred Buford. Surviving relatives are her sons, Gene Montague (Kay); Murray Montague (Dawn); daughter, Ann Carter (Barry); grandchildren, Curt Carter, Carey Carter, Nikki Tucker, Elisabeth Montague, and Peter Montague; great-grandchildren, seven. Visitation for Mrs. Montague will be held on Sunday, November 06, 2016, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Maury City, Tennessee.| Pallbearers for the service will be Curt Carter, Carey Carter, Daniel Carter, Jon Roberts, Clint Tucker, and Charles Scallions. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Carter, Buford Ward, and Jimmy Ward.
