Drucilla "Dru" Mcdaniel Obituary (2018)

Drucilla "Dru" Laster McDaniel, 88, of Tupelo, MS, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ernestine Laster of Alamo, TN. She was reared in Alamo, TN along with five brothers. In 1957, she married Royce McDaniel and together they owned McDaniel Tile and Marble Company in Tupelo, MS. Dru loved to help others and became an advocate for taking care of the body, mind and spirit. She was a leader in the Shaklee Corporation for over 40 years. She is survived by her son Michael Ryan McDaniel (Robin), Olive Branch, MS; four grandchildren who adored their "MawMaw": Blair Nichole McDaniel, Ryan Lewis McDaniel, Michayla Grace McDaniel, and Matthew Blake McDaniel; brothers Jerry Laster of Alamo, TN; Gene Laster (Judy) of Bells, TN; and, James "Jim" Laster (Teresa) of Charlotte, TN. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and their children who all loved their Aunt Dru. Dru was preceded in death by her parents, Royce McDaniel, brothers Ralph Laster of Fulton, Kentucky and Alfred Laster of Humboldt, TN. Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. April 27, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo and 2 p.m. until service time April 28, 2018 at Ronk Funeral Home in Alamo, Tennessee. Services honoring her life will be 3 p.m. April 28, 2018 at Ronk Funeral Home.
