David Coughlin

David Joseph Coughlin Sr. was born on February 20, 1939, in Jackson, TN and passed away on February 28, 2024. David's life was a testament to the power of talent and reliability. He was a beacon of resilience and determination, exemplified by the quote, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

David spent his career at the Jackson Energy Authority, where he served as a Gas Department Supervisor until his retirement. He was known for his reliability, always ensuring his team and the community had the support they needed. Away from work, David was an avid outdoorsman, relishing in every opportunity to be in nature. He was a talented golfer, a longtime member of the Crockett Golf & Country Club, and an accomplished fisherman and hunter. David's love for the outdoors was infectious, his joy in these pursuits evident in the twinkle in his eye and the spring in his step.

David is survived by his sons, David Jr (Renee) and Joel, his sisters, MaryLou and Diane, and his grandchild, Joel. David is also survived by his late wife's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, DJ and Carrie Bell Coughlin, his beloved wife, Della and his brother, Bill.

A graveside service will be held in his honor at Cypress Cemetery in Bells, Tennessee, on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:30 pm conducted by Bro. Brian Griffith. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery around 2 pm for a visitation with friends and family. Honoring David as pallbearers will be family and friends.

His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. To celebrate David's life and remember his many contributions, we encourage all who knew him to share memories and upload photos to his memorial page.
