Christy Evans

–

Jackson, Tennessee

It is with profound sadness that we remember the life of Christy Marie Evans, who passed away on January 26, 2025, just a few months shy of her 42nd birthday. Christy, a native of Jackson, Tennessee, was a beacon of love, intelligence, compassion, and courage. These qualities were not only reflected in her personal life but also in her work as a dedicated Social Worker.

Christy was well-known for her love of adventure, and one of her most cherished memories was a spectacular Alaskan cruise. She had the soul of an explorer, always eager to embrace new experiences. Her love for family was unparalleled, and she found immense joy in the annual family Thanksgivings celebrations held in the Smokey Mountains. As Maya Angelou once said, "The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned." For Christy, her family was that safe place, her home, her sanctuary.

She is lovingly remembered by her father, Leslie Evans; her brother, William Evans (Kristin); her niece, Bethany Evans; her nephew, Isola Evans; and her aunt, Jackie Yates. Christy was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sherrie Evans.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2:00pm CST at Young Cemetery, 345 Young Cemetery Road, Gadsden, Tennessee, 38337. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.

In the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Christy's spirit, her love, her compassion, and her courage remain with us, felt in our hearts, and reflected in our memories.

We encourage all who knew Christy to celebrate her remarkable life by sharing stories, memories, and photos on her memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a comforting reminder of the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind.
