Burlis Jean Thompson Obituary (1930

Graveside services for Mrs. Burlis Jean Thompson, age 90, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2020, at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN with Dr. Brent Lay officiating. Mrs. Thompson passed away, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at her daughter's home in Denmark, TN. She was born in Bogota, Mo, July 4, 1930, to the late Gylo Bryant and Beulah Sizemore Bryant. She and her husband, Mr. Charles Henry Thompson, were long time members of Englewood and Calvary Baptist Churches in Jackson, where she was very active in the senior adult programs they provided. Mrs. Thompson volunteered a lot of her time at her church and for the organization Birth Choice. She was highly devoted to her family and made every birthday, holiday, or special occasion something to remember. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of God. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Henry Thompson; sister, Patricia Davis. Surviving relatives are her son, Steven Thompson (Teresa); daughters, Sheila Carter (Chris), Sondra Park, Darla Thompson; grandchildren, Michael Haynes, Kimberly Miller, Jake Park, Adam Park, Matthew Thompson, Naomi Harris, Morgan Wynn; great grandchildren, Dulaney Pierce Haynes, Steele Haynes, Brixton Miller, Tucker Miller, Carmello Clay, Eva Sargent, Ella Sargent, Emery Harris, Aubrey Thompson, Everett Thompson, and Adaline Thompson. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
