Billy Gene Smallwood, born on February 28, 1948, passed away on February 6, 2024. Billy, a charismatic and supportive man, was known for his thoughtful and loving nature. He lived his life to the fullest, always reminding us of the words of Mark Twain: "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." Billy was a retired factory worker who cherished his family and friends above all else. He resided in the heart of his loved ones, and his presence was a comforting presence in their lives.
Billy was widowed, having been married to the love of his life, Chauncey Smallwood. He is survived by his daughter, Brandy Smallwood, and his brother Danny Smallwood along with his wife Elaine. His brother JC Smallwood also survives him. His parents, W.J.C and Gracie Smallwood, and siblings Fred, Harold, Floyd Smallwood, Emily Thompson, and Elizabeth Lovelace, preceded him in death.
A graveside memorial service for Billy will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm CST at Cypress Cemetery in Bells, Tennessee, 38006. Billy's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. As we remember him, let us carry forward his legacy of love, compassion, and zest for life. Every time we lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or comfort a loved one, we honor Billy's memory.
