Billy Wayne Hooper

Billy Wayne Hooper, born August 11th, 1939 in Friendship, TN passed away on May 21st, 2024 at Alamo Nursing Home. He was a faithful member of Crockett Mills Christian Church, and a 1958 graduate of Hamlett-Robertson High School. He retired after 39 years with Rayloc Division Standard Parts in Memphis. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed fixing and trading lawn mowers.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sherry Daniel Hooper; sons Daniel Hooper of Dyersburg, TN and Steve Hooper (Tina) of Searcy, AR; and one granddaughter, Julia Hooper of Searcy, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Eunice Harber Hooper; his siblings, James Harold Hooper, Raymond Hooper, Francis Grimes and Joann Carrigan.

The family will receive visitors from 4 until 7 on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Ronk Funeral Home and again on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10 until service time at Crockett Mills Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Crockett Mills Christian Church conducted by Bro. Tom Stolarick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Honoring Mr. Billy as pallbearers will be Roger Ballard, Danny Hutchison, Jason Mansfield, Steve Porter, Jerry Woods, and Chris Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Hilliard, Jimmy Latham, Michael Latham, Donald Ward, Wade Powell, Bo Hutchison, Monrose Hutchison, Jennett White, Patsy Ray, and Carolyn Skaggs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Crockett Mills Christian Church, PO Box 168, Crockett Mills, TN 38021 or NOAH of Crockett County, PO Box 94, Alamo, TN 38001.
