Angela Woodward

–

Friendship, Tennessee

Angela Renee Woodward, born on July 3, 1970, in Jackson, TN, passed into eternal rest on January 4, 2025. A resident of Friendship, Tennessee, Angie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman of faith, love, and compassion, who lived her life according to the quote, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

Angie dedicated her life to educating and serving others, as an ESL teacher at Crockett Count Head Start. Her love for teaching was only surpassed by her love for her family. Her passion for grandmotherhood and homesteading brought her great delight. If she wasn't seen sharing her knowledge with a child in the yard on chicken tending, she was empowering one in the kitchen, teaching them the life skill of canning homegrown vegetables in their cabin house.

Angie is survived by her devoted husband, David Woodward; her cherished children, Johnathan Gibson, Jade Pierce, and Lacy Haley; her dear sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Doug Melton; and her adored grandchildren, Mason Hatch, Jackson Gibson, Farrah Rogers, Kloie Doolin, Harley Chance, and Baylin Chance. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as her self adopted children and anyone who called her Momma Angie or Aunt Angie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Philyaw and Barbara Ellis.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Ronk Funeral Home, 106 South Bells Street, Alamo, Tennessee, followed by a memorial service at the same location at 3:00 pm. As we remember Angie, we are reminded of another quote she often shared, "A life that touches others goes on forever." Indeed, Angie's legacy will continue to touch and inspire all who knew her.

We invite all who knew and loved Angie to continue her legacy by sharing memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. She touched many lives, and each shared memory helps to keep her spirit alive.
