Jimmy Byrd

Jimmy Vance Byrd, age 85, of Alamo, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Jimmy was born on July 23, 1941, in Alamo, Tennessee, to the late Richard V. Byrd and Katie F. Byrd. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jimmy was the owner and operator of Byrd and Sons Dozing, where he worked for many years serving families and businesses throughout the area.

Jimmy is survived by his son, William D. Byrd and his wife, Abigail; two daughters, Elizabeth Cope and Julie Byrd Nolen and her husband, Kevin; seven grandchildren, Charlie A. Byrd, Arthur J. Byrd, Addison Lee and Londyn Lee, both of Huntingdon, Madison Cardona and her husband, Omar, Makenzie Acosta and her husband, Adrian, and Mason Nolen; four great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Royce Harris and Jan Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Byrd.

A graveside service for Mr. Byrd will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Salem Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
